Heart Centered Leaders

As a leader, before I make a decision, I always ask myself what my motivation is? Is it in integrity? Is it in the name of creating harmony? Is it for more money, more power or more resources? Is it to help someone or to hurt them? Is it to make myself look better or to really make a meaningful difference in the world? Is it from a place of fear or a place of love?

America needs leaders with great courage. Leadership in these times requires those willing to step out of fear and ego mentality and into love and heart centered guidance. Love is the strongest and firmest form of energy that has ever existed. Leading from the heart, from intuition, will assure that one is not ego or self-focused, but rather able to listen to guidance that seeks the greatest good for all. True leaders ask questions. Socrates engaged people by asking them questions instead of giving them his opinion. When we operate a society out of fear, we tell people what to do. This occurs in our schools, media and politics. People become brainwashed into buying someone else's beliefs and never learn to trust or think for themselves.

Ways to influence leadership in your community:

From the "Tao Te Ching"

The best athlete wants his opponent at his best.
The best general enters the mind of his enemy.
The best businessman serves the communal good.
The best leader follows the will of the people.
All of them embody the virtue of non-competition.
Not that they don't love to compete,
But they do it in the spirit of play.
In this they are like children,
And in harmony with the Tao.

When two great forces oppose each other
The victory will go to the one that knows how to yield.
